How will the weather be at our wedding or event party?

Yes, this is definitely an important question and almost always it remains open at least until some days before. The weather, indeed, is the only point for which we are not able to give any guarantee!

Of course we hope to have sunshine and nice temperature – however, we’ll have to take it as it will be.

But luckily, nowadays we do not need to expect surprises once everything is ready, but we have good sources of information about how the weather will be like and we are therefore able to get prepared in any case: for a sunny day as well as for rainy or windy conditions and may therefore program if to go ahead with a plan B considering the gala dinner and the party inside!

The climate

Regarding the temperature and rainfall, the region of Tuscany can be divided in 3 main climate zones:

1. The coast with a Mediterranean climate, rare possibilities of frost and about 2 months try summer period. We are talking about the region around Livorno, Bibbona, Suvereto, Grosseto, Orbetello and Alberese.
2. In the hinterland (flat area and some hilly areas) with a sub-Mediterranean climate.
3. The mountains with a fresh climate.

Generally in Tuscany we have a temperate-mild climate, although there are clear differences within the region. As a rule of thumb you should consider to find a hotter climate at the coast and in in the valleys than in the hilly areas and mountains, where the climate can be described as continental and with more rain.

The summer in Tuscany is quiet try and, especially in the valleys, very hot. The springtime (April, May) and the autumn (October and November) can be rainy as well as sunny with nice temperatures.

The average temperature in the warmest month (July) is around 23 C and 25 C, as we have a hot and sultry heat especially in the valleys. In the coldest month (January) there is a noticeable difference between the coast and the interiors of the country, with medium temperatures around 7 C at the coast and 3,5 C and 5,5 C at the interior parts of the country. Of course, in the mountains and hilly areas we have a lower temperature.
